OPERON recognise the growing pressure and opportunity for clients to produce and manage buildings with reduced environmental impacts, reduced operating costs and improved internal environments to enhance the comfort and productivity of the occupants. OPERON have capitalised on this development in the market by embracing and focusing on our in-house expertise such as CFD by establishing GENEX, a specialist team of engineers to concentrate on Energy and Environmental aspects.

The comprehensive service provided by the team of Qualified Engineers with over 20 years of Energy & Environmental experience can be specifically targeted to meet individual client requirements. The available services include:

Sustainability:

Guidance and design on sustainable engineering, appraisal and design of Renewable Energy Sources, Water Conservation including sustainable drainage, material selection accounting for embedded energy costs and pollution control

Water Management:
The provision of services in accordance with HSE’s ACoP L8 including risk assessments, on site monitoring and control, training, analytical services (chemical and biological) audits, water treatment and cleaning and disinfection of water services

Building Regulations Part L:
Calculations to ensure compliance, advice on sub metering requirements, log books, training and advice an the proposed changes (2005)

Environmental Legislation:
Climate Change Levy, EU Emissions Trading Scheme and EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive

Environmental Assessments:
BREEAM for Offices, Industrial Units and Bespoke developments , EcoHomes and SAP, NEAT and SEAM

ISO 14001 Accreditation:
Identification of environmental aspects and impacts, Full Environmental Audits and assistance towards achievement of IS0 14001 accreditation

Energy Services:
Energy procurement, Energy monitoring, Property Benchmarking, Bill Validation, Energy Audits, Water Management including leak detection, greywater recycling and rainwater harvesting

CFD:
Computer Building Analysis to predict internal environmental conditions, Thermal Modelling
